Electric control is pretty light on damage, maybe pair it with Storm or TA to get some damage out of your secondary. edit: oh or Traps!

Skirmisher Archetype Concept: Assault/Armor Tank
mistagoat replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Sleep Grenade from Arsenal is also a pulsing sleep. I think that and Static Field are the only examples in the game that re-apply sleep once its been broken. -
I'm sure this isn't the answer you're looking for but I'd say whatever toon you're spending the most time playing or having the most fun playing. I don't think I'd start a new toon with the intention of dipping it in gold if I didn't already know that I really enjoy playing that toon. The toons I go all out on are my favorites, Ill/Rad troller, fire/dark troller, arse/ta troller, elec/shield scrap and stalker, ss/rad tank, fire/fire blaster, ect. I love all those toons and I'd recommend them to anyone but who knows if they mesh with your playstyle.

Map Server - It's Over. Whatdidchalikebestest?
mistagoat replied to Troo's topic in General Discussion
The Lag was awful but it's a cool event in small doses. I don't like to powerlevel my toons so I avoided it with anything but 50s but I'll miss unlocking all my incarnate slots in like 30 min! -
Who knows what might get changed when or if it ever comes here (I don't think it ever will) but in its original design, there was no knockback. As far as I can tell, it had a knockup power and a knockdown power. https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Wind_Control

I have 9 lvl 50 set out Scraps. My favorite to play by far is the Electric/Shield followed by the Axe/Ice. Both of these combos can struggle in early levels before your defense is filled out and Stamina can also be a beast to conquer but once they start getting set out and begin to bloom, oh boy do I feel like an invincible whirling dervish of destruction. Elec/Shield probably isn't topping the DPS charts but it sure does top the fun chart for me (unfortunately, the combo is even better on stalkers)! Axe/Ice does some stupid damage and the crit proc goes off fairly reliably. I also played an Axe/Ninja, that had a smoother ride to 50 but I feel like the Ice has more benefits at 50. Strangely, I love Battle Axe and War Mace but kinda hated Broadsword, felt super "meh" to me.

Wind Control. Will we ever see this powerset?
mistagoat replied to Heatstroke's topic in General Discussion
I don't think we'll ever see it but in its original conception there was no KB. It had 1 knockup and 1 knockdown. -
Yes please! I'd buy that for a dollar!

Other folks have offered some great info! I'll just say that I got my first AR blaster to 50 not too long ago and I was shocked at how awesome it was! I went AR/Tac Arrow, you can stay at range 100% of the time. Build in a little ranged defense and hoverblast and you should be good to go. I also have a DP blaster and it's just kinda fine, not bad by any means but it doesn't really stand out either. I found the AR to be more effective, ymmv. Sentinels, I've recently discovered, are so badass! However, I think it may be an error to compare them to blasters. They are far more comparable to scrappers that just happen to have ranged attacks. I tried playing a sent like a blaster and I was super underwhelmed and abandoned the AT for a couple years but I got some great advice and started building and playing them like a scrapper and it all snapped into focus and they became insane fun and super effective! Currently leveling a Fire/SR that is very hard to kill and has a Nuke up every 24 seconds! Try both, they play very differently!

You can get the nuke recharge down to a point that lets you use it every other spawn to eliminate everything except bosses and a couple near death Lts. Admittedly that means you have to keep a non-nuke strategy in your pocket for every other spawn but then you get to vaporize the spawn after that again. Alternatively, run with a Blaster buddy and alternate nukes to utterly demolish anything in your way!

What would you do if you were a DEV?! (Fun Ideas Talks)
mistagoat replied to SSR's topic in General Discussion
Eliminate all crashes on T9s Remove Group Fly from the game and give pets their owners travel power. Pets spawn even level to their owner. Increase base storage by 50% Increase coalition limit as high as possible (infinite?) Fix/expand league controls Purge Max (sorry Max, nothing personal but I hate seeing the pop ups) Allow converting of Hami-Os/D-Syncs Instanced Hami Raids Statues in my honor -
I don't have an Ice secondary blaster so not sure on Shiver but Frost Breath is skippable. Bitter Freeze Ray could go either way, its fine but has a long activation time.

I prefer a Blapper style blaster, the melee attacks are very strong and really increase your damage. However you're still a Blaster with Blaster HP so if you jump in and you happen to get hit by a boss and a lt in quick succession, you die. The classic Fire/Fire makes a great Blapper. Fully range Blaster are way safer but give up some measure of damage potential for survivability (or in some cases, a power combo just has no need to enter melee). Both are entirely viable and just a matter of preference. Assault Rifle/Tac Arrow make a great fully ranged Blaster. Try em both, they're both fun!

Hit 50 with this guy a couple nights ago. Finished with Automated Villainy and Miss Francine at +3/+4 x8 and mostly breezed through it. Then we unlocked Incarnates and jumped on a Mapserver event until everything was unlocked and I managed to get at least a T1 into each slot. I asked you guys for something fun and efficient to level up that would make me say "I get it" and mission accomplished!! I'm sure there's more nuance to learn but I had so much fun with this toon! Thank you for the build advise and perspective adjustment! The next run will be a Fire/SR with my buddy playing a DP/Energy Sent!

Always down for more options (I want birds!) but the options we currently have are available to male and huge.

We slowed it down a little last night and did a bunch of rouge/vill arcs through the crystal at +2/+3 x2. We did: Bravo for the Shadow Shard Blurring the Lines The Secret of the Circle A Traitorous History We just wanted to try some arcs we don't do very often. The Secret of the Circle was my favorite, we'll probably be doing that one semi-regularly for future toons. Just got 1 level but it was a fun change of pace. Seeing how well my Sent is doing has made my Brute buddy want to try another Sent too! (He also only has 1 Regen Sent currently). He's working on a DP/Energy build.

Last night we ran the Psimon Says arc, it's a 30-34 Rouge arc with Freaks, Cage, Security, Longbow and Arachnos. We ran at +2x8 and did great for the most part. There were a couple times the Brute got hit with terrorize and he couldn't make a break free fast enough to survive. If I were playing a Blaster, I probably would have had to head for the hills but since I have shields I was able to hold my ground! I'm not invincible, it took my heal and a couple inspirations to survive but I stayed up long enough for the Brute to get back in the fight and take some heat off me. Fun night and we finished at 42!
-
Do you know what the purpose of that is? Seems odd to allow a 35 to start a SF that would spawn at +5 when they are set to +0.

2 night recap: night 1: What a fun night! We ran another round of vamps and got the badge, then bumped it up +2x8 for 2 round of wolves. That got us Atlas Medallion and level 28. We bailed on the Moonfire and I started a +2 km Yin and got lucky with a wonderful pug team, we finished in 29 min at level 30 or 31. After that we duo'd a Silver Mantis at +2x8 and ended the night at level 36 night 2: We began with Unlucky Artifact and then finished off High Pain Threshold. Then we tried to duo an Ice Mistral. We were level 36 and set to +2 and the mobs were level 42! I'm shocked we lived long enough to get out the door but we called it a wrap on than nonsense! Next we tried to duo an Aeon. It went great until Apex, we just didn't have the damage/debuffs to get through his last 10-20%. All good, we knew that was a possibility before we started but we got through it on the last couple troller pairs we leveled so we were overconfident. After that we just wanted to beat something up so we did a couple tip missions at +2x8 to redeem ourselves a bit. We finished at level 39. I continue to have more fun than I expected! I think this is what snapped it into focus for me. I used to think of them more as Blasters with Shields and they ended up feeling underwhelming when viewed through that lens (probably made worse by my choice of armor last time). When I started treating it like a Scrapper and prioritizing Res/Def and charging into melee and expecting scrapper-ish damage, things started to make sense. Of course it's also very nice to have the versatility to stay at range when the situation requires it, like killing those Goldbrickers in the forge on that Aeon. I've started working on a Fire/SR Sent build!

Really? That's so disappointing! I thought they were seeding a new event with "max" at the center to be revealed soon. The reality is so lame!

Let's not mess with Rad armor, it's perfect and wants for nothing. It's a Lightning Bolt mixed with a Polar Bear and blessed by the flying spaghetti monster!

We had a few nights of real life getting in the way of gaming but got back at it last night. We ran the rest of the hollows contacts for those sweet, sweet merits and did Julius and Talshak at +3 and ran into lots of +4s. Things went surprisingly smooth, the debuff is pretty noticeable on +4 bosses. The Hollows arcs got us 83 big ol' merits (I love the Hollows!) and level 23 at the end. After that we turned down the diff and ran through all the bank jobs (used an alt to get the missions but the alt did not participate) to get Invader and all the best temp powers that the Rouge Isles have to offer (it's really all about that team teleporter, so useful!). Level 24 now. So then we wanted to start working on Vamps for Atlas Medallion so we set to +0 x8 and did the first Moonfire mish. That got us a little over 100 Vamps as well as level 25. We left a couple patrollers as to not complete the mission and logged off and we'll start up doing that mish again tomorrow to get the rest of the Vamps. This has been a blast so far! I feel like I'm cheating cuz I'm running with a Brute so I'm not taking a ton of aggro but even when I get reckless I'm holding up pretty well, I'm impressed! We should both start getting some more AoE damage in the next few levels so I look forward to cranking up the qty on missions. This is what the build looks like so far:

I like it! One slot for one power that's still subject to ED doesn't seem overpowered or unbalancing. Vet level 100 is achievable but certainly not a simple task. Even if one were to farm it the whole way, that's a hellova lotta of farming! I think the effort required to get would keep the reward balanced.
