A controversial topic: is it time to make all items free?
jkwak replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in The Market
That is what games are in the end though ... if you want to do something meaningfull then ... dont play games and touch grass -
i appreciate that it does only include your self not others in a team and there Damage as this is often a thing that causes a lot of flaming in other MMOS when such overviews are there nativelly where people piss all over support classes when they dont do "enough damage" (not that it would be very accurate with such a tool anyway if you are to far appart and you dont get there stuff in the chat)

A controversial topic: is it time to make all items free?
jkwak replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in The Market
NO, the more stuff in a game is archived without effort the less you get the feeling of archivement and the more the fun of the game is lost, its a big balancing act to have an MMO like COH completly for free in the first place and its a constant question "was mechanic XYZ a meaningless way to keep engagement and therefor the revenue stream of the game up or is it a mechanic that actually make the game fun" and some mechanics like having an Economy are on the surface level annoying, timeconsuming meaningless crap and fit in the first category but if you look closer are things that make MMOS what they are and actually make them fun like when you finally can afford that cool thing from the Auction house or when you succesfully played the market and turned a profit. its already highly controversial that Homecoming went away from prestige for Super Groups, which is why many other Servers got prestige back, i personally would want a more balanced inbetween solution for the prestige thing, not get fully rid of it but make rooms and every object that does not give a gameplay advantage completly free ... but i stand alone with that opinion and most people want an everything or nothing solution for that -
If Your Characters had a Patron Pool...
jkwak replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm... My Goblin character.... Owns a toy company... So probably something with toys? Last tier a toy version of her self? Maybe That or the Patron pool would be "being loud and obnoxious while blaming other people for stuff the character did" -
its just my humble opinion and i m a german player not a French one, but i would leave names and such like Ghost Widow and concepts like Task Force untranslated to avoid confusion on another note, if you want to get even further the loading screens are still there even on the homecoming client

Focused Feedback: New Aether/Reward Additions
jkwak replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
did anyone ever get the P.E.A.C.E. Drone? either from the vendor or as drop? cause i didnt so far but the drop rate is really low so its hard to tell if its just bad luck on my side -
Rogue and Vigilante Organization Power Pools
jkwak replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
with the new thing in Beta, the new Blackwing Industries group would work perfectly as Vig/Rogue EAT as they are a security firm, sure in KW they are hired to do the Police work but they could, in theory, get hired by anyone and therefor work on any side, not only that but ... if somehow a way is found to force a costume change when moving from Praetoria to Primal Earth they even could work as Prae EAT and either start as Praetorian Police or Resistance first -
Focused Feedback: Kallisti Wharf Zone Comes To Life!
jkwak replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
its already a lot of text but maybe make that clearer? there are some other complaints i have about the Blackwing lore but this isnt the Blackwing thread -
Focused Feedback: Enemy Group - Kallisti Wharf Skulls
jkwak replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Saw Skulls spawned at 3 level higher than surounding mobs in a couple of places and comletly obliterating them even without a player coming close to trigger a fight, forgot to make a screencap on where it happend though, i will make one next time i explore the improved KW -
Focused Feedback: Issue 28, Page 2 - New Badges
jkwak replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
sooo the Accomplishment Badges look a bit derpy and dont really fit in with the rest of the game in my opinion same for the Peacekeeper / Peacemaker badge, i get that they needed to be somewhat unique for the new content but they stick out a bit to much imo -
Yeah, even though Sents have defensive secondaries they aren't even close tanks and can Definetly not deal with a Blaster

makes me wonder why I got points for custom created objects at all... I have nothing the like in Saturn Bar as I found all the objects I wanted in the base editor... Except if you sneaked in during the party and gave points for the mechanical bull which I added befor the party and removed right after
-
Yes I tested that furiously after finding that bug out and can say that nothing has disappeared yet. The Basebuilders I talked to told me it's not reliable and shouldn't be used though. I for one think it's very reliable
-
i make the changes last minute on the same day, also its a public event so in case the base has already been judged you are free to show up, else it might be unfair if you show up and judge a base that is in use at the time
-
Ooh uuh, I m planning to host a Party at the Saturnbar this Saturday, I wanted to make some quick temporary changes there, should I just don't do the changes then? It Dosnt really have much of an impact for the party if I leave the base as is to be Judged. Admittedly I didn't expect so much competition and thereforer I didn't expect Judging to take the time it would take.

Use AI to translate in-game dialogue.
jkwak replied to captainstar's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
thats kinda sad, the stuff client side is mostly image files for UI elements, UI elements which arent used anymore anyway, a couple text snippits and old loading screens i m aware that most of the actually important suff like mission texts, as the most obvious example, was and is handled server side, i just assumed that because they didnt clean out the multilanguage support so thuroughly on the client side they would not have cleaned out that support so thuroughly on the server side as well, But there is probably a huge difference between leaving a handfull of images and text snippets worth a couple of Megabyte and leaving everything on the server and wasting god knows how much gigabytes unused while also impacting performance for no reason at all -
Use AI to translate in-game dialogue.
jkwak replied to captainstar's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
weird, i was sure there was some language option client side, but its many many years ago and i might misremember it -
Use AI to translate in-game dialogue.
jkwak replied to captainstar's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
how so if that worked on the Live servers for a long time? i cant imagine, that wehen the mutlilanguage support was removed, the life Devs cleanead out everything of that system when on the client side there seems to be so much remaining of the mutliple languages that used to be supported edit: on that note i would take just the content that was already translated on life befor they removed the multilanguage support, if games that are still supported bye there studios and publishers do similiar things by claiming to be "multilanguage" yet all the new content in the last 10 years is only in english *looking at DCUO* so Homecoming can to -
actually even Android, this dude on Youtube did it

the way how leagues work in CoH has some annoying quirks and problems but from what i heard and know they cant do much about those problems, at best they can prevent the auto quiting leagues when a gold sider is in the league and the league goes to Primal earth and have instead the gold sider getting auto kicked. although the major problems with how leagues work only make them self apparent when things like the Mapserver happen which is a once a year occurence, for MSR, Hami and ITFs as well as the occasional Nemesis, Zombie and Rikti invasions most of the problems with leagues arent as impactfull as leagues just stay in the same zone all the time and there isnt much change in members of the league with people droping and joining all the time. Even for Monster hunts leagues stay small and can be easy managed besides the problems of how Legues work. only occurence where the bad way leagues work has an impact would be ToTing also once a year and there leagues at least stay in zone

i would take a Portal in the style of the Ouro Portal, i already have a lot of ideas how to use it, i dont mind not having a portal in the base going to Ouro i just want something that looks like it
-
It's not as bad as the screenshot makes it look like tbh but I had this screenshot and compared it to all the other Screenshots. So the cars confuse you but not the partial street it's on and the buildings? My best guess some super has thrown it there, I have build it and never decided on that part of the lore

me: makes a black void "look its space i m proud of it" everyone else: "here is this mega project worked on tirelessly its a functional city with everything a city would have, i thought about every small detail, i have fought with the quirks and problems with the base editor until the base editor gave up, begged for mercy and let me do what ever i want, it was a hard and long battle, many keyboards and mice lost there life in it but it was all worth it" me: "i added rocks to my black void, they kinda float in there"
