Also start using the launcher https://manifest.cohhc.gg/launcher/hcinstall.exe as we will be stopping Tequila support sooner rather than later

Thanks for that. It worked fine.

Go to the folder, there is a folder inside called data. Open that and you'll see Homecoming and rebirth. Drag the downloaded Homecoming folder in and let it overwrite the existing folder. I just did it and it worked.

Same problem for me. I assume the mids people are working on it

Where do I ask questions about game lore?

Sounds like your antivirus doesn't like it and deleted it.

Some fantastic costumes there, and the spooky atmosphere really worked with the location. Excellent job to the organisers and contestants. Meanwhile I'm here hitting the random button on the costume creator 😛

Is reporting inappropriate posting discouraged?

If you are talking about your post that got removed, I removed it manually. No automation involved. It wasn't you though, it was something else. -
That's......... not good....... Have you tried the obvious of rebooting your router and seeing if a wired connection has the same problem? Then it's an ISP issue. Changing the channel you use for the wifi canhelp as the default can get congested with everyone else in your are. I'm slightly worried that you've been on some dodgy web sites. (Not those, get your mind out of the gutter!! 😛 ). You might have a virus or spamware that's using your resources behind your back. If it's not the ISP or the wifi channel then doing a deep clean with a respectable antivirus and antimalware could help. I'm not an expert at all, just advice I've taken that's helped me and passed on to other players.

As I'm part of the shady cabal I can neither confirm not deny your hypothesis. Though I am interested in trying the secret society cheese sauce. Sounds yummy!!

The people who make Mids will bring out an up to date version once it's set in stone. At the moment it's in flux as it's still in beta so todays update is tomorrows out of date information. The mids team are not part of Homecoming and do it out of love for the game and community. They aren't devs with instant access to the back end.

I've never tried Hasten... should I start?
GM Crumpet replied to Forager's topic in General Discussion
Personally I don't find it makes difference unless I'm trying to get a permanent (recharged before the old one has run out) power like phantom army or Light Form. I've got a tray full of powers to click so something is always ready for casting. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Miasma

Please keep the comments to the topic on hand and don't start arguments with each other. Thanks. -
Victory was created by Michiyo at the same time as Homecoming. There were many versions of the game made at that time like Thunderspy, Cake and Rebirth. Michiyo was friends with some of the original Homecoming creators and started helping out, then became part of the core team and Victory kept going as a separate thing, albeit with mostly HC architecture. It had the same updates as HC and after a while was mostly the same with a few tweaks to help the low population of die hard players. Eventually running it alone became too much for Michiyo so it was folded in as the 6th shard. Cost-wise it's not adding any extra as we have the capacity, and some people actually like having a quiet shard to play solo on. It also meant the Victory players didn't lose their game and progress because of Michiyo having to close it down.

Yep, it's a bit tricky when you pick powers from another pool, it's a second click after you picked it. Fly is available at level 4, and any time after that when there is a power pick. The free fly does vanish after you've used it for a certain amount of time. If you are level 10 you have a free respec so you can redo your power picks. Just type /respec and make sure you pick fly at level 4. Air superiority is a bit of a niche pick and it's very rarely chosen unless someone desperately wants group fly and doesn't want to take hover, a far more useful power in my opinion. I now await all the people jumping on me to tell me Air superiority is fantastic and they consider it a must pick they can't live without 😛

Is the game harder to learn today than back on live?
GM Crumpet replied to Intermipants's topic in General Discussion
I find new players manage well if they play the game as intended and do things like Twinshot/Dr Graves and the low level arcs. I told a friend who was utterly new to the game to play that way and they had had a blast. Avoid power levelling, make mistakes, die a lot. After a week or so he started doing DFB and posi 1, and I explained how the auction house works and how to slot enhancements. All stuff most people will explain on help if they ask. The difficulty is people are now conditioned to believe the lower levels are a waste of time and only the end game matters. I've been playing Diablo 4 and it's as shallow as a puddle. Race through the very short story in a few hours then it's just a tedious grind for better equipment and torment level. It's fun, and blasting through endless hordes can take a little bit of skill, but it's not exactly the most stimulating thing to play. Here the journey is the game. When you hit level 50 it's the same trials and raids every time. One thing that does stand out for me is the vast array of powers and the fact you can pick all of them and they are all used. Modern games use the WoW model of 5 or 6 powers on a tray and that's all you can use. Last Epoch has the same problem. I have a dozen or more powers to choose from, but can only ever use 5 of them. For a 20 year old game CoX is still breaking the mould and daring to be different.- 30 replies

Why I want the ability to ignore entire topics

They did the same to Idris Elba. His parents were African immigrants and he was born in London and always calls himself British. Lenny Henry said to the host "I'm not African American, I'm from Dudley" in his broadest black country accent. Fun fact. I went to the same school as he did (different years, he left as I started. He's 5 years older than me.) and his mom and my mom were friendly in a nodding acquaintance way. They both played bingo in the same bingo hall for years. -

Sadly if you aren't doing at least the bare minimum in the auction house you are missing out on a lot of inf. Any orange salvage post for 10 inf and you'll get a lot more than selling at a vendor. Recipes are a bit harder, but I stand next to a vendor with the vendor screen open and then type /ah to open the auction house screen. Then drag the recipe in and see if it's selling for less or more than the vendor and if it's more list it for 10 inf. Otherwise sell it at the vendor. It takes minutes, you aren't spending half your game time playing auction roulette. I also buy most of my IO's ready made. A lot of the lower level ones are dumped for low prices by badge hunters making them for the crafting badges.

I do like beasts/thermal. Setting your pets on fire and letting them loose is fun. Plus throwing bees at people never gets old
